Getting it ready for Canton

So tomorrow is my 25th wedding anniversary.
It also would have been Jordan's 20th birthday.
Yes - he was born on our 5th wedding anniversary
and we haven't celebrated an anniversary since then.
He kind of took over that day from that point on.
It was worth every second.
It was very hot and kind of rainy this weekend
so I did a lot of work inside.
First I had to clean the studio and
make way. In doing so, I uncovered
some boards that I had been saving
and now I had the chance to
get them out and finish them.

GOOD NEWS !!!

We have come to an agreement in our
household and we will definitely be going to
Canton as vendors for the September show -
Labor Day Weekend. If this doesn't work out
I will never hear the end of it!!!!

~Roses ~ Love ~ Peace~

Because in the end it was worth it

Do what makes you happy ~ Be with who makes you smile
Laugh as much as you breathe ~ Love as long as you live

Don't cry because it's over
Smile because it happened

being able to survive it doesn't mean it was okay

Everything happens for a reason

Believe
I know - the L and the I look the same -
I may have to do something about that.

I love you to the moon and back

Here are some boards that hold 4X4 pictures.
They are very rustic and I love them !!!! Do you?

Before and After

This is the cute little chest that I bought Friday morning.
Didn't even realize that the bottom drawer does NOT open.
This is only a drawer front that is glued in place.
I guess I was too excited to even notice at the time.

Here she is after some paint,
a little distressing, and
some very cool pink glass knobs.

I think she is as pretty as picture.
I hate to have to sell her.

Gotta get a move on

Well, vacation is over; Back to work as a big girl now and wishing I could just do my junkin full time. My dream is to get to Canton on Labor Day weekend and set up my stuff and sell, sell, sell. I know that things don't always turn out like you plan but I do have this dream and I have been emailing with some very wonderful ladies who have set up camp in Canton and they are very encouraging.
However, the husband is not being positive about this venture, AT ALL !!!!
I would love to prove him wrong unfortunately, without his help (setting up the camper that I want to purchase and allowing me to make the purchase) I won't be able to do it. I am moving forward like it is going to happen but I will have to be prepared to have my dream (and my feelings) crushed.

SO MOVING ON....

I went junkin' before work yesterday and found a bunch of treasures that I am going to love and care for and fix up and love and care for and sell...

This little chest is in perfect condition. Just needs some paint and some
wax rubbed on the drawers to make them slide easier, little lavender smelling
drawer liners and she will be better than new.
This buffet/server/cabinet needs a little more help but not too much.
This will look great once it is shabby chic.

I didn't get a picture of this ones enamel top but it is in need of some love.
I think Mr. Negative, I mean the husband, is out there taking care of it right now.

This old booth bench will need those bottom boards removed.
Little paint, a cushion and some pillows and you will be able
to see it's dimples when it smiles.

This white wicker cabinet would surely sell.

This rocker isn't from this morning but I had just finished priming it and had forgotten to take a before picture. I made a cushion for it this morning and will put it on once the second coat of paint dries and I am able to distress it. It's gonna be hard to let this one go. You will understand why once you see the cushion.

I also bought this old cast iron fence section.
It came out of a courtyard in New Orleans. The guy wanted
to have the rails tacked back in place but I wanted it just like it is.
It took 3 people to lift this 4 or 5 foot section of fence. HEAVY !!

I will use these little lids in a mosaic project that I want to do.

A box of finials, and little wooden boxes and an ironstone gravy boat.

2 very old corbels and 2 old trunks.

The green one is stamped inside "Reinhold & Lewis - Spec No 61B - 1943"
I am going to paint it on the outside but leave the inside w/ the stamp in tact.
The brown one has a name plate on the top but no date.
So now I will head back outside to finish up what I can today. It has turned out to be a beautiful day here in Louisiana. The temperature is wonderful so it is a perfect day to be outside.
